Bu kelimeyi duydu\u011fumuz zaman akl\u0131m\u0131za \u00f6ncelikli olarak alkol ve madde ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131klar\u0131 gelmektedir. Ancak ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131k, uyu\u015fturucu madde ve alkol\u00fcn yan\u0131 s\u0131ra; davran\u0131\u015fsal ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131klar olarak da ele al\u0131nmaktad\u0131r.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

K\u0131saca tan\u0131m\u0131n\u0131 yapmam\u0131z gerekirse; ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131k, bir madde veya davran\u0131\u015f\u0131 d\u00fcrt\u00fcsel ve tekrarlayan bir istekle kullanmak, kullanmay\u0131 b\u0131rakamamak ve bu zararl\u0131 davran\u0131\u015f\u0131 kontrol edememek olarak tan\u0131mlanabilir. Bir bireye al\u0131\u015fveri\u015f ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131s\u0131 diyebilmemiz i\u00e7in o bireyin sat\u0131n alma durumuna kar\u015f\u0131 durdurulamaz \u015fekilde d\u00fcrt\u00fcsel bir istek duymas\u0131, almamak ve kendini durdurabilmek ad\u0131na s\u00fcrekli ve tekrarlayan bir bi\u00e7imde \u00e7aba g\u00f6stermesi, al\u0131\u015fveri\u015fin art\u0131k ki\u015finin i\u015flevselli\u011fine(sosyal, ekonomik, e\u011fitim ve psikolojik) zarar veriyor olmas\u0131 ve bu davran\u0131\u015f\u0131n\u0131 ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftirmedi\u011fi zamanlarda \u00f6znel bir s\u0131k\u0131nt\u0131 hissetmesi gerekmektedir. Al\u0131\u015fveri\u015f ba\u011f\u0131ml\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131nda sat\u0131n al\u0131nan nesneden ziyade alma durumunun kendisi bireye haz vermektedir. Birey al\u0131\u015fveri\u015f yapma d\u00fcrt\u00fcs\u00fcyle o nesneyi ald\u0131\u011f\u0131nda kendini iyi hissediyorsa tamamen hazza y\u00f6nelik hareket edebilir hale gelebilir; hatta kimi zaman ihtiya\u00e7 duymad\u0131\u011f\u0131 halde ayn\u0131 nesnenin t\u00fcrevlerinden veya ayn\u0131s\u0131ndan tekrar alabilir.
